LEAN
LEAN
The leaning table is a striking statement for the room that it lives in. Utilising material sparingly to create an unorthodox '2-legged' form, the table actively engages with its immediate context – the wall – to become embedded within the fabric of its surroundings.
The form of the triangular steel frame creates a pointed focal point above the Tasmanian Oak top which it pierces. As the frame leans through the timber shelf, it appears almost coincidental that the shelf would sit perfectly flat and horizontal as both elements rest on the wall face.
By relying on the wall to complete the structural system, the shelf is inherently linked and a part of the space it inhabits, contributing a sculptural and considered addition.
